Today’s post was going to be a very pointlessly racist comic about Godzilla, but I will just have to save that for another time. Instead this is the manifestation of a conversation this morning between Sherief and I as to DM theory, and how the DM is responsible to hand out reward and punishment, and how God is a shitty DM because people starve to death and I totally have to work in tech support to earn a living instead of gallivanting about as a wizard or a pirate. It also became immediately apparent that if we extend that analogy further that he isn’t exactly trying to help us. He is the kind of DM that sticks to the annoying rules like only letting you carry what is physically possible, and charges full price plus markup for things you want or need, and forces you to train charisma and diplomacy because if you are in a bar trying to pick up a chick you are never gonna get that crit role that lets her see past your obvious and crippling social skill and appearance deficiencies.
Just saying, DMs like that are pricks.
